Carine, Shade quality control officer .
Before working at TDV Industries I worked for 10 years as a scanning agent in an archives department. Thanks to someone I knew I applied to TDV Industries in the hope of more flexible working hours. I’ve now been working here for seven years; I started off doing fabric inspections for CVE (Control, Inspection & Dispatch) before progressing to shade quality control officer, which is my current post.
My job consists in checking that the shades are identical from one production lot to another, but also that they comply with customer expectations. I’m also in charge of new shades; it’s up to me to validate the lab-dips. Finally, I track the shades from one dispatch to another.
What do I like about my job? First of all, satisfying the customer; it’s very nice to know that a customer will be pleased! I also like the meticulousness and attention to detail the job demands, and that it is very varied.
